Fifteen years ago, in the town of Albany, New York Edward Cullen ran into a fascinating young woman, Carlie Carter. Carlie fell hard for Edward, not knowing what he was. Right before he left Edward got caught up in himself and slept with Carlie, running off the next day not knowing what a beautiful miracle he had left her with.

Carlie soon became pregnant, and quickly at that. She knew there was only one thing she could do to keep anyone from finding out and that was to run away, far far away. Carlie ended up in the town of Deere Isle, Maine. On July 13th, 1993 Carlie gave birth to a little girl. She died holding the baby in her arms, having just enough life left to write a note with a name on it, Nessie Carlie Cullen.

Nobody knew of Edward's time with Carlie, he had been on a break from the family at the time. So when the Cullen's show up in Deere Isle they find it hard to believe there's a girl living there with exactly the same name as them.

One day out of the blue Nessie shows up on the Cullen's door step and the story begins to unravel. Renesmee had been living on her own since she was sixteen, barely making it through school. When the Cullen's realize she's half of what they are and that she's Edwards daughter they give her a place to stay and a family. Though Edward is finding it hard to except this, especially when he's falling for another human, but this one it's different. Will Edward come to accept his daughter just as his whole family has?
